Level Up for Girls!
The Girls Advocacy Alliance (GAA) organised the Level Up for Girls! event on Tuesday 3 September 2019. GAA supports youth advocates raising their voices to eliminate gender inequality and discrimination. They have called upon the Dutch Parliament to engage with youth advocates when talking about economic exclusion and gender-based violence and to protect them as human rights defenders when required.
The guests were invited to join with 20 youth advocates from 10* different Asian and African countries to explore solutions and practical steps to end gender-based violence and economic exclusion of girls and women once and for all.
They got inspired by the keynote speakers and interacted with civil society actors, policymakers and the private sector. But above all, they had an opportunity to exchange thoughts and experiences with youth advocates and to discuss challenges and opportunities to reduce harmful gender norms.
Together, we can Level Up our efforts towards gender equality and girls’ rights: let’s Level Up for Girls!
